How to levitate. ๐Ÿคพ๐ŸŽˆ

"My heart is in your hands, molded by your love. And though I give you chances, you won't give me up. Truth is, without you, I fall to pieces."

- Trevor Lee "Fall to Pieces" (Track 1 on "Struggle Ain't New" Album)

Driving ๐Ÿš— back home to Houston, TX from Alabama we entered into a silent hour, tired of searching for new playlists to jam. Does anyone else listen to Spotify comedy playlists, or is that just me? ๐Ÿคฃ

At this time in my ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽค career it had been a year since I ๐Ÿ“wrote my last song, and I recently admitted to being in a writer's ๐Ÿšซblock. My buddy and Houston producer, Cam Taylor, sent me his latest creation (as usual).

It immediately struck a chord...

...(all puns intended). With no clue about what to โœ’write about, I let the ๐ŸŽตmelody show itself to me. Then I started to think about how I felt at that moment. The word's "fall to pieces" came through while humming along. After deciding to keep the phrase, I started working backwards to find the motive that would lead to this statement. I looked into myself and reflected on the year before realizing that I needed to...

...let go and just fall.

The most consistent joy I experience in life is when God is in control. When I get out of my own way and just let God reveal the path. Sure enough, He does, and I'm better off for it. Less stressed, and just overall in a better outcome than if I forced it with my own ability. The song came. I was finished before we made it ๐Ÿกhome.

Do everything you can and know to do.

However, when you reach the length of your reach, relax and let God take it from there. I know from repeat first hand experience, it's not worth stressing out about something you were never in control of to begin with.

This directly applies to my efforts towards organizing my album release party. I had one plan, and God had another. Although there are close friends that will be missing it, there are so many people I didn't expect to attend that have bought tickets. New supporters I've never met, and even people I haven't seen since high school.  I'm grateful for this special night. BTW, you can still purchase tickets. lol

Hope this encourages you!

Love you all.
